Show Dem Camp caught in royalty drama as fan-favorite album mysteriously vanishes from streaming platforms

Nigerian rap duo Show Dem Camp (SDC) have confirmed that their acclaimed 2018 album Palmwine Music 2 was briefly removed from major streaming platforms following a royalty disagreement with one of the project’s collaborators.
According to Show Dem Camp, the issue began after a featured artist returned years after the Palmwine Music 2 album’s release to request a larger share of revenue from one of the songs. The dispute, which could not be resolved immediately, led to the decision to temporarily take down the album while legal and financial matters were being addressed.
“The song became a success, and years later, the artist came back asking for more,” the duo explained in a recent interview. “We had to take a step back and protect the integrity of the project while we handled the legalities.”
The incident highlights a recurring challenge in the music industry, especially within Africa, where collaborations between artists often lack clear long-term agreements about royalties and intellectual property.
After several days of absence, Palmwine Music 2 has since returned to streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Audiomack. However, the updated version now contains eight tracks instead of nine, with the popular collaboration Tropicana featuring Flash notably missing. The song is believed to be at the center of the disagreement.
Show Dem Camp’s decision to restore the rest of the album while removing the disputed track has been praised by fans, reflecting their professionalism and commitment to preserving the legacy of the Palmwine Music series.

Apparently, an artist they collaborated with on the album came back years later to demand more because the song was successful.
