Latest update on Alejandro Garnacho's move to Chelsea

Chelsea Football Club have agreed with Alejandro Garnacho ahead of a move to Stamford Bridge as they anticipate the start of the 2025/26 season.

Fabrizio Romano announced the deal on his social media account on Friday, August 8, 2025. According to him, Chelsea are reportedly set to open talks with Manchester United to secure the deal for the Portuguese international.

He said,

"Understand Alejandro Garnacho has agreed every detail of personal terms with Chelsea. Deal done on player side, he only wants Chelsea as revealed here since July. Talks with Man United about the fee will follow soon. Chelsea pursues both Garnacho and Xavi Simons."

Garnacho had made it clear to Manchester United that he wants to leave Old Trafford after he fell out with Ruben Amorim. The winger expressed his displeasure at Amorim when he was left out of the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur.

There are reports that United value Garnacho at £40 million but Chelsea are optimistic that the price will reduce because he is surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.
