Atletico Madrid reacts to Barca completing the registration of Dani Olmo

Atletico Madrid in their latest statement have shared their reaction following the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor by Barca.

Atlético Madrid has voiced its shock and confusion over the Spanish National Sports Council's decision to approve Barca’s registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, despite initial rejections from both La Liga and the Royal Spanish Football Federation.

The club argues that this ruling undermines the economic control framework governing Spanish football and could set a dangerous precedent by encouraging rule violations and threatening the integrity of the sport.

In an official statement, Atlético Madrid expressed "deep concern," emphasizing that the decision compromises the current regulatory system and casts doubt on the consistent enforcement of financial rules. They reaffirmed their commitment to complying with economic control measures but warned that the lack of uniform enforcement creates an impression of inequality. The club is apprehensive that this development could pave the way for further regulatory breaches.

Atlético Madrid is not alone in its discontent. UD Las Palmas has also criticized the ruling, describing it as a significant threat to competitive fairness and a precedent that could destabilize the sport.

"Atlético de Madrid wishes to express its deep concern regarding the situation that has arisen in Spanish football following the resolution issued on Wednesday by the National Sports Council," read the club's statement.
"We believe this decision jeopardizes the current system, calling into question the established rules. It opens the door to breaking regulations and repeating past mistakes. Without clear and equally applied rules for everyone, fair competition is impossible," the statement concluded.
