Manchester City release an official statement on Rodri's injury

Manchester City Football Club have released a statement concerning Rodri, who recently picked up an injury in the game against Arsenal.

The Premier League Champions confirmed the extent of the injury on its official website on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. According to the club, Rodri will
travel to Spain to seek specialist consultation this week, following initial tests in Manchester.

The statement is as follows,

"The midfielder travelled to Spain to seek specialist consultation this week, following initial tests in Manchester. Assessment remains ongoing to ascertain the full extent of the injury and expected prognosis."

What happened to Rodri against Arsenal?

Arsenal's midfielder Thomas Partey had a bit of pressure on Rodri during a Manchester City attacking corner, he went down in severe discomfort and was brought close to tears by the injury, despite leaving the pitch on his own feet with a stretcher present at the time.

Pep Guardiola has shared his thoughts about the injury to one of his most reliable midfielder, accor8dng to him, the club will find a solution.

"We will find a solution, when one player is irreplaceable, we have to do it as a team, and this is going to happen.Last season we had 3 months without Erling, 5 months without De Bruyne and we won the Premier League."

The injury sustained by Rodri comes off the back of the player, commenting that football stars are close to going on strike over the growing demands placed on them due to the busy schedule for the players. The Spanish international played across 50 games for Manchester City alone last season before reporting Spain at the Euro 2024.
