Asake's 'Lungu Boy' equals Burna Boy & Davido's record on US Apple Music chart
The neo-fuji act's third album is starting with a great run on streaming charts worldwide.
Nigerian ace singer and performer Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has equalled an Apple Music chart record of his Nigerian compatriots Burna Boy and Davido with his new album 'Lungu Boy.'
The YBNL-Empire artiste released his new album on Friday, August 9, 2024, and the highly experimental album, which features Nigerian Afrobeats star Wizkid, American rapper Travis Scott, Brazilian songstress Ludmilla, and British rappers Stormzy and Central Cee, is already garnering influential stream numbers and equally dominating the charts both locally and internationally.
A few hours after the release of the much-anticipated project, the album reached #2 on the United States Apple Music album chart, making it the third Afrobeats album to achieve this feat, as a result of equalling the record for the highest-charting Nigerian album on the platform, which was also achieved by Davido's 'Timeless' and Burna Boy's 'I told them', both released in 2023.
