Super Eagles forward player, Kelechi Iheanacho has reportedly agreed on a deal with La Liga side, Sevilla as a free agent ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Transfer news expert, Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on his official X account on Sunday, July 28, 2024. According to the Italian, Kelechi Ihenacho and Sevilla are close to finalising the documents and it is expected to be completed in a few days.

The contract of the Nigerian international was not renewed by Leicester City after the expiration of his deal at the end of the 2023/24 season after they secured promotion to the Premier League. Iheanacho joined the Foxes from Manchester City in August 2017, having scored 61 goals which includes the winner against his former club in the FA Community Shield final at Wembley in August 2021.

Amidst intrest from Premier League club, the 27-year-old is keen on a move to Sevilla which will give him a different experience. This move will see Iheanacho join fellow Nigerian international Chidera Ejuke at Sevilla. Ejuke, who also signed as a free agent this July, recently ended his stint with Russian club CSKA Moscow.

Recall that Leciester also confirmed the exit of Dennis Praet, and Marc Albrighton as free agents ahead of the 2024/25 football season.
