SHARE

As fans eagerly await the start of the 2024/25 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season, it's important to note the new rules introduced by the organizers that every player must be aware of before the competition kicks off.

FPL have also announced that there is a new chip that will be introduced mid-way into the season which will be announced in January 2025.

New FPL Rule:

FPL managers will now have the opportunity to save up to five free transfers, compared to the previous limit of two. This means patient players will be able to bring in five players after missing out on a transfer every week. Additionally, when a player plays the Wildcard and Free Hit chips, they will still keep their saved transfers, instead of it resetting to zero. So, managers can now save up to five free transfers, play any of their chips, and immediately have five free transfers to use in the following Gameweek.

Changes in Points:
The major change is that the points for each goal scored by a goalkeeper have been increased this season from six to 10. There are also changes being made to the Bonus Points System (BPS). Firstly, the penalty has been reduced from 15 to 9 BPS. Additionally, new additions to the BPS have been made, which means players will be rewarded or penalized for more different actions:

  • Goalkeepers and defenders conceding a goal will be worth -4 BPS.
  • A goalline clearance will be worth 3BPS.
  • A foul won will be worth 1BPS.
  • A shot on target will be worth 2BPS.

The Pitch has also been redesigned which will be visible to the players when they create their team. The design is the same that was used for the FPL challenge last season.

Player Cards have been added, offering enhanced information when making a substitution or transfer. Furthermore, there are additional new rules that will be introduced in the game as the season progresses.
