Here are three players who opted for another club after they rejected a possible move to Chelsea in the June 2024 summer transfer window.

Chelsea FC have been busy in the June 2024 summer transfer window so far and it is of no surprise that the Blues have been linked to different players in the market in their bid to build a stronger squad under new head coach Enzo Maresca ahead of the 2024/2025 season.

Although the Blues have managed to complete the signing of some of their key targets, other players have however rejected Chelsea for other clubs due to different reasons.

Who are the players who rejected a transfer to Chelsea?

Here are the players who rejected the bid from Chelsea for another club:

Michael Olise

Following months of speculations and the launch of new bids, Michael Olise opted for a move to Bayern Munich as opposed to Chelsea. Reports confirmed that Chelsea had issues negotiating wages that would suit their current structure after Olise had reportedly requested for a 200 thousand plus pounds weekly.

It however came as a shock to many that the France star player opted for a move to Bayern Munich instead of renegotiating with Chelsea. The Athletic also indicated that the 22-year-old had favoured a move to join Bayern Munich, with the German club among those who reached out regarding a potential transfer. His official transfer to Bayern Munich was confirmed in an official statement by the club on Sunday, July 7, 2024.

Arguably one of the most sought after attackers in the June 2024 transfer window, Benjamin Sesko rejected a move to Chelsea or Arsenal but rather opted to extend his contract with his club side RB Leipzig for a few more years. A contract extension with RB Leipzig would mean an increase from his initial buyout clause fee of 55 million pounds.

Sky Sports made this confirmation in their latest news report that read, "Benjamin Sesko was linked to a host of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United; the RB Leipzig forward will be staying at his current club next season, with the German side set to hand the 21-year-old with a new contract."

Riccardo Calafiori

Chelsea had also considered a move for Riccardo Calafiori in a bid to boost the defense capabilities of the club following the absence of Thiago Silva. The Italian however has opted for a move to Arsenal after reaching an agreement on personal terms with the Mikel Arteta led side.

Sports journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed this in a post that read, "After Riccardo Calafiori’s green light to move and contract, Arsenal have made direct contact with Bologna. Talks between clubs have started. No issues on Calafiori’s contract terms, up to the clubs now. Arsenal currently ahead, no bid from Chelsea so far."

Chelsea will still look to get more business done in the transfer market ahead of a new football season regardless of the players who rejected a move to Stamford Bridge but fans are however concerned about the quality of the player that would be joining the club in the coming weeks.
