Chelsea confirms the exit of two players on a permanent move
Chelsea Football Club is set to reduce its squad ahead of the 2024/25 season, with Omari Hutchinson and Lewis Hall being the latest players to depart from the club.
The Blues officially announced the players' exits on its website on Monday, July 1, 2024. It was revealed that Omari Hutchinson and Lewis Hall will depart from Chelsea, the former will join Ipswich Town, who were recently promoted from the Championship while the latter will move to Newcastle United.
Hutchinson, 20, played a significant role in Ipswich's promotion to the Premier League last season. Throughout his time at the club, he made 50 appearances, scoring 11 goals and providing four assists.
On the other hand, Hall will also depart the club making a permanent move to Newcastle United after spending the previous season (2023/24) on loan with the Magpies in the Premier League.
The 19-year-old made 22 first-team appearances for Newcastle and scored two goals during the campaign.

During his time at Chelsea, Hall was named as a substitute in the Carabao Cup quarter-final win over Brentford in December 2021, and he made his full debut against Chesterfield in the FA Cup two weeks later. Hall became the youngest player to start an FA Cup tie for the Blues and claimed an assist in the 5-1 victory.
In the following season (2022/23), Hall broke into Chelsea's squad, making his Premier League debut away at Newcastle and starting in high-profile away matches against Liverpool, Manchester City, and Manchester United.
