West Ham reportedly complete 1st signing ahead of June 2024 transfer window
Reports now indicate that Julen Lopetegui is set to finalize his first signing ahead of the June 2024 transfer window as West Ham's head coach.
According to the Guardian UK, West Ham United has successfully negotiated a deal to secure the services of defender Fabrício Bruno from Flamengo for a transfer fee of £12.5 million, which could potentially rise to £15 million with add-ons making him the club's first signing ahead of the June 2024 transfer window.
The 28-year-old is poised to become the inaugural signing under the tenure of the recently appointed head coach, Julen Lopetegui.
Notably, Fabrício Bruno earned his first cap for the Brazilian national team in a match against England at Wembley Stadium in March. However, he has not been included in the squad for the upcoming Copa América.
Throughout his career, the center-back has plied his trade exclusively within the Brazilian domestic league. This acquisition comes as West Ham seeks to bolster their central defensive options. The team has faced challenges with injuries to Kurt Zouma, while Nayef Aguerd is reportedly eyeing a transfer.
