Tiwa Savage reveals how much she earned for her first show
Afrobeat Queen, Tiwatope Savage, popularly known as Tiwa Savage, has opened up about her early experiences as an upcoming artist in the industry during a studio session with her junior colleague, Odumodublvck.
In a video shared from their link-up on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, Tiwa Savage revealed that she was paid a modest sum of N50,000 for her first show. The artist, formerly signed to Don Jazzy's Mavin label, reminisced about the moment with a smile, recalling that it was during the era of her hit song Kele Kele Love, which gained prominence in 2010/2011.
During the studio session, Tiwa Savage's candid revelation prompted laughter from Odumodublvck and other colleagues present. She expressed her joy at receiving the payment, underscoring the significance of the milestone in her budding career.
Kele Kele Love, released on November 4, 2010, under Mavin Records and 323 Entertainment, served as the lead single from Tiwa Savage's debut studio album, Once Upon a Time. The song earned her the Best R&B Soul Song award at the 2011 Afrotainment Museke Online Music Awards.
