Where does the Super Eagles rank in the latest FIFA ranking?

The Super Eagles of Nigeria dropped two places in the latest ranking which was released by the body governing football in the world, FIFA.

The three-time African champions went down two places to 42nd in the world following their disappointing results against Rwanda and Zimbabwe in the 2026 World Cup qualifying games. The poor results drop did not affect the team’s placement on the continent as it remained the 6th team on the continent behind Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria and Egypt respectively.

The 2022 World Cup champions, Argentina retained their place as the best team in the world followed by France in second place. England moved to third place followed by Belgium in fourth place, Brazil completed the top five teams following defeats to Colombia and Argentina.

Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Italy and Croatia complete the top ten teams in the world. World Cup semi-finalist, Morocco retained their 13th spot.

The latest ranking also had the re-entry of Samoa (187th), American Samoa (188th) and Tonga (196th), who were all playing international football again following months of not playing football.
