Tyla's hit song ‘water’ becomes most streamed song in 2023
Afropop Princess Tyla left her mark in 2023 as her hit single 'Water' became the most streamed afrobeat song on Spotify.
Water debuted in July and has since become the song of 2023. The melodic song also earned a spot on the Billboard Top Global 200 list. Tyla has also been nominated for Best New Artist at the BET Soul Train Awards. Other nominees for this category are Ayra Starr, Ambre, Coco Jones, Flo, Doechii, Wanmor, and Fridayy. The rise of ”Water” also lifts Tyla’s fortunes on the Billboard Artist 100, where she lept from 72 to 58 in her second week on the 100-position list, which measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption.
