Mauricio Pochettino explains his tactics against Arsenal

The manager of Chelsea Football Club, Mauricio Pochettino has revealed the tactics he used in the London derby against Arsenal in a Premier League game.

The Argentine was speaking in an interview on Chelsea's website, a few days after the match which was played on Saturday, October 21, 2023. He said the team needed to change the way they attacked the game against Arsenal.

'We needed to change the shape and the strategy to attack. We tried to have superiority in the middle with Palmer and Conor Gallagher stopping the centre-backs having a reference and getting them into the midfield zone.”

Chelsea were in the driving seat of the match with less than 15 minutes to go. However, Arsenal got back into the game when Sanchez hit a poor pass to Declan Rice to get one back for Arsenal before Trossard scored the equalising goal less than five minutes to the end of the game.

Chelsea have been unbeaten in their last four games across all competitions ( three wins and a draw). They will be looking to get back to winning ways in the game against Brentford on Saturday, October 28, 2023.
