Super Falcons forward player announces her retirement from football

Super Falcons forward player, Desire Oparanozie has announced her retirement from football for both club and country.

She announced her retirement on her official X account formerly known as Twitter on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. Desire Oparanozie is one of the players who gave the best part of her career to the Super Falcons during her active days with the national team.

"To my fans, family, and friends, thank you for the show of love and support over the years. It’s time to take a bow, as I believe there’s no better time than now. I’m officially announcing my retirement from professional football for both club and country."

Oparanozie scored 22 goals in 35 games for the national team. The 29-year-old won the Africa Women's Nations Cup twice, and she won the Golden Boot at the same competition in 2014.
