Premier League announce nominees for August 2023 player of the month

The Premier League have announced the nominees for the best player of the month award.

Six players have been shortlisted for the August 2023 Player of the Month award following their fantastic performance in their various clubs. The viewers are expected to vote for who they believe deserves the award alongside a panel of football experts in the league.

Who are the nominees?

Taiwo Awoniyi:

The Nigerian striker scored in each of Nottingham Forest's first three matches, which extended his overall scoring streak dating back to last season to seven consecutive Premier League matches, only the third African player to do so.

Jarrod Bowen:

The West Ham United midfielder was involved in three goals in August 2023, his efforts has seen the Hammers end the month of August in second place.

James Maddison:

The former Leicester City player has helped transformed Tottenham Hotspur into an attacking team. He has been the sole of the team of everything good at the club, having scored a goal and two assists.

Bryan Mbeumo:

The Cameroonian has stepped up in the absence of suspended Ivan Toney, scoring a joint-high three August goals, from only seven shots, for unbeaten Brentford.

Kaoru Mitoma:

The Brighton midfielder player has set up more goals in August, he also scored an amazing solo goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Rodri:

The Portuguese has kept a 100% record in the league having scored two goals which is the same number of goals he scored throughout last season ( 2022/23).
