The supporters of Arsenal Football Club have received awful news as it concerns the injury to Jurrien Timber.

The defender picked up a knock in the Gunners' opening game of the season against Nottingham Forest at the Emirates on Saturday, August 12, 2023.

The statement released by the club confirmed that Jurrien Timber has sustained an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. He will undergo surgery in the coming days and will be out of action for some time.

However, Arsenal fans might not have to worry because Oleksandr Zinchenko is now back in full training though, and with Timber's injury this may well speed up his return.

The squad is expected to take an off day on Friday, August 18, 2023, and a decision will likely be made over the weekend to determine if the former Manchester City player will be available for the clash against Crystal Palace on Monday, August 21, 2023.
