Transfer News: Pep Guardiola reacts to reports of Bayern Munich signing Harry Kane

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has reacted to the recent reports of Bayern Munich signing Harry Kane from Tottenham, according to recent transfer news.

At the pre-match press conference held by Pep Guardiola as Manchester City prepared for the first game of the 2023/2024 Premier League season, the head coach addressed the reports of Harry Kane and Tottenham reaching an agreement to sign the prolific striker for 100 million pounds according to transfer news.

The reporter had asked Pep for his thoughts on the move of Kane to his former club side Bayern; the manager was shocked by the news and also asked if the deal had been confirmed as official.

Speaking on Bayern finalising the move of Harry Kane executive board member Andreas Jung of the German giants revealed in an exclusive interview with Sky Sports how special the move is for the club. He said, "I think it is the financial evolution of football. For us, it is the first time that we pay on that level for a player but we know that other teams who have investors, for them it is not a big issue to have a player for €100m. For us, it is something special. On the other hand, it shows that we are competitive with the others. We will have a team that, in every competition that we play, has the chance, the opportunity, to win that competition. Therefore, I think it is a good signing. A player like Harry Kane will, for sure, help us, in combination with the other players. So, everyone is now looking forward to when he is allowed to play. I think he is a top player. He scored the most goals at the 2018 World Cup and is every year a top scorer in England so there is no discussion about him as a football player."

Reports indicate that Kane has, however, not completed the move to Bayern as Tottenham has reportedly not given him the green light to make the move as the English side wants to make extra additions to the already agreed contract.
