BRIT Awards honours Wizkid for setting new Afrobeats record in the UK
The Grammy-winning act has become the first Afrobeats singer to achieve a remarkable milestone in the United Kingdom.
Nigerian ace singer, songwriter, and performer Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has been honoured by the British Phonographic Industry music award body for his latest achievement in Britain.
The Starboy Entertainment frontline ace and the owner recently headlined a show at the 62,850-capacity Tottenham Stadium in London, making him the first and only African artist to headline and perform at the venue.

In an update of events, it has been revealed by the official Twitter page of the Brit Awards on Monday, July 31, 2023, that the Afrobeats superstar was awarded the prestigious Brit Billion Award for garnering a staggering one billion streams in the United Kingdom. The tweet read:
