Lionel Messi Chooses His Next Destination after Leaving PSG

Former Paris Saint Germain and Barcelona player, Lionel Messi have reportedly agreed to a deal in principle with MLS side Inter Miami.

Messi was initially linked with a possible return to Barcelona when the transfer window officially opens in Europe. However, L'Equippe confirmed that the Argentine reported earlier on Wednesday, June 7th, 2023 that Messi will be heading to the United States despite Xavi’s efforts for a possible reunion between both parties.

PSG had announced that Messi will leave the club at the end of his current contract. Football fans around the world would have expected Messi to move to Saudi Arabia and join Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, and N'Golo Kante for a mega-money move. However, the forward player decided to take a different turn away from the Gulf Nation.

There is nothing official from either Messi's camp or Inter Miami, but the Argentine is expected to make an official statement on his future.
