Chelsea Join Elite Class of UEFA Champions League Clubs
Chelsea Football Club took a huge step in their quest to win the UEFA Champions League for the third time.
The Blues joined the elite class of clubs in the history of the competition to overturn a first-leg defeat following their victory over Borussia Dortmund at Stamford Bridge. The Premier League club lost the first leg of the tie 1-0 at the Signal Iduna Park.
Chelsea have now progressed from five UEFA Champions League knockout stage ties after losing the first leg, the joint-most of any team in the competition's history (Barcelona, Juventus, and Real Madrid also five).
The Graham Potter's boys won the second leg 2-0 courtesy of goals from Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz in each half of the game.Potter has become just the second English manager to win five UEFA Champions League games in a single season, after Bobby Robson with Newcastle in 2002-03 (5).
