Manchester United have their eyes set on completing the signing of a world cup 2022 finalist as their second signing for the January 2023 transfer window, a shocking transfer move that has left many in awe.

Manchester United, according to reports, is set to make a bid to Besiktas to sign the forward Wout Weghorst, who was a world cup 2022 finalist with the Netherlands who crashed out of the quarter-finals after suffering a defeat to Argentina on penalties. Weghorst who is a Burnley player who is on a season-long loan to the Turkish side Besiktas has popped up on United's radar as it was revealed that Ten Hag is a big admirer of the forward.

Sky Sports revealed:

United have been in the market for a striker to provide attacking cover for Marcus Rashford, and are understood to have made initial contact with Burnley to find out if a deal is possible.

Netherlands international Weghorst moved to Burnley on a three-and-a-half-year deal from Wolfsburg on Transfer Deadline Day in January 2022, but left to join Istanbul-based outfit Besiktas on a season-long loan last summer having found the back of the net just twice for the Clarets.

This is a shocking move many can not help but see as a panic buy for the red devils to fill in the forward position left vacant following the termination of Cristiano Ronaldo's contract by united.
