Manchester United's midfielder, Bruno Fernandes has reacted to Portugal's exit from the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The player sent a heartwarming message to the supporters of the Portuguese national team following their defeat to Morocco. Portugal suffered a 1-0 defeat to the North Africans in the quarter-final of the tournament in Doha, Youssef En-Nesyri's first-half goal was the only goal in the match.

Fernandez reacted to the defeat on his official Twitter account on Sunday, December 11th, 2022. According to him, the team's dream fell apart in the game but he was proud of the performance that his teammates gave throughout the game.

It's difficult to express in a few words everything we felt yesterday after the game ended. Our dream fell apart when we did everything to make it end differently. It's sad and painful because representing ours means much more than just playing football. Despite the elimination, I am very proud to be Portuguese and even more proud of all those who represented our country with me in this World Cup. I would also like to congratulate the Moroccan team for the great game and for deservedly qualifying for the semi-finals of the World Cup.

Morocco have been the dark horse of this competition against all odds. They will face France on Wednesday, December, 13th 2022 for a place in the final.
