Arsenal FC Confirm the Departure of Its First-team Player

Arsenal Football Club have confirmed the exit of Lucas Torreira on a permanent transfer to the Turkish side, Galatasaray.

The Gunners confirmed the transfer of the midfielder on its official website on Monday, August 8th, 2022. According to reports from the club, everything he did for the Gunners during his time at the club was appreciated.

The Uruguayan played 89 matches for Arsenal, he was part of the London team that beat Chelsea in the final of the FA Cup in 2020. Torreira spent the last two seasons away on loan in Spain and Italy. In 2020/21 he was with Atletico Madrid, where he made 19 league appearances in the team’s La Liga winning campaign.

The midfielder spent last season with Fiorentina, where he made 35 appearances in all competitions during his time with the Serie A side.
