Formula 1: FIA Gives Update on Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Following Attack in Jeddah
The Formula 1 body has given an update concerning this weekend's race in Saudi Arabia following the situation in the country

There have been concerns that the race might not happen following the recent attack in Yemen which is a few kilometres away from the venue of the race. However, the organisers have released a statement that the race will go on as scheduled.
Formula 1 and the FIA can confirm that following discussion with all the teams and drivers, the 2022 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix will continue as scheduled. Following the widely reported incident that took place in Jeddah on Friday, there has been extensive discussion between all the stakeholders, the Saudi government authorities and security agencies who have given full and detailed assurances that the event is secure. It has been agreed that all stakeholders to maintain a clear and open dialogue throughout the event and for the future.
The attack happened while the first practice was ongoing, the 20 drivers also had a meeting to discuss their safety ahead of the race on Sunday, March 26th, 2022.
