Premier League Confirm Postponement of Two Boxing Day Fixtures

The Premier League Board have postponed two games that were supposed to be played on Sunday, December 26th, 2021.

The games that were postponed includes; Watford vs Wolves and the game between Liverpool and Leeds United. According to statement from the Premier League, the games were postponed because of the outbreak of Covid-19 in the camp of Leeds United and Watford.

Following postponement requests from Leeds United and Watford FC as a result of COVID-19, the Premier Board met this morning ( Thursday) and regrettably agreed to call off the two affected clubs' Boxing Day fixtures. The two games are Wolverhampton Wanders versus Watford FC and Liverpool FC against Leeds United, both due to be played on Sunday at 12:30 pm. The Board today was able to make its decision in advance of Boxing Day to give clarity to clubs and their supporters. We apologise for the inconvenience and disruption caused to those fans' festive plans.

The Premier League have insisted that the games will go on in a place that they find safe despite the outbreak of the virus.
