The prolific Nigerian Award is about to host its 16th edition, and it has rolled out its nominee list for the Rookie Award.
Organizers of Nigeria's popular award show Headies have rolled out the official Rookie of the Year nominees list for its 2023 edition.
The Headies is a music awards show established in 2006 by the Hip Hop World Magazine of Nigeria to recognize outstanding achievements in the Nigerian music industry. The annual ceremony features performances by established and promising artists.
As expected, the year in review for its 16th edition starts from January 2022 to March 2023; hence, only musical content released within this time will be eligible for nominations.
Announcing the list via his social media platforms on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, the awarding body revealed ace musicians Odumodublvck, Guchi, Bayanni, Eltee Skhillz, and Khalid as its Rookie of the Year nominees for the 2023 edition.

The rookie of the year category shines its light on artists who have had a successful year musically, with the absence of an album in the year under review.

Sensational songstress Guchi has her viral song All Over You to contend with. Neville Records' Khaid has songs like With You, Ski, Jolie, and Carry Me Go to contend with, while uptempo signer Eltee Skhillz has songs like ODG and Breakfast to contend with.
