The Lagos State Police Command has issued a public apology to populardisc jockey, DJ Switch following erroneous reports of her arrest.

The reports, which surfaced on Thursday, April 18, 2024, accused the renowned DJ of impeding police officers on duty.

DJ Switch promptly refuted the allegations on social media, stating that she neither promotes nor condones violence against law enforcement. She also hinted at taking legal action in response to the false claims.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, clarified that the arrest was a case of mistaken identity. He explained that the individual taken into custody was actually DJ Commissioner Wysei, not DJ Switch. Hundeyin apologized to DJ Switch and the media outlets he initially provided the information to, including Linda Ikeji, BBC, and TVC.

"There is a mix-up from our end," Hundeyin said. "The arrested person is DJ Commissioner Wysei, not DJ Switch. Apologies for all inconvenience to a few media outfits like Linda Ikeji, BBC, and TVC that I gave confirmation this morning. Apologies to DJ Switch too."

In response, DJ Switch accepted the apology, stating, "Thank you! Apologies accepted."
