Fast-rising Kenyan songstress Nadia Mukami is set to make her debut on her on Coke Studio Africa - 2019. The "Yule Yule" hitmaker will be featured on the Big Break segment on this upcoming season and is paired alongside Tanzanian R&B sensation Juma Jux and Mozambican singer Shellsy Baronet - to be produced by Lizer (Tanzania).

During the production that is ongoing in Nairobi, Nadia spoke of her debut with Notjustok East Africa.

How did you receive/take the news of your enlisting at Coke Studio Africa

Having been in the industry for such a short time, I  was so excited and feel like that the show has recognized my nine months of hard work.

How has been your experience recording so far and who are you working with on the show?

For this season, I am working with Juma Jux and Shellsy. The experience has been amazing especially when I get positive vibes from other bigger artists that I really look up to. I came through as a Big Break artist, so it is really humbling and I can't wait for everyone to hear what we have created together.

What have you learnt as an artist from the whole production process?

Two main things - quality and discipline. Everything that we are doing on the show has to be perfect whether it is the harmonies, songwriting process or the arrangement. I have also learnt discipline especially in terms of how to engage with other artists.

Which songs do you attribute to your success?

"Si Rahisi" is the song that gave me a break into the Kenyan market. The song was more of a prayer because it talks about the struggle of being an underground artiste. God heard my prayer and ever since then together with my team at Hailemand Entertainment who have been doing an amazing job in pushing me into the bigger platforms

Nadia has been in the industry for 3 years now but released her first music video"Kesi" in 2017.  She got signed to Hailemand Entertainment in March 2019.

Watch out for her performance when the show begins airing in February 2019. Production of Coke Studio Africa 2019 is ongoing, with artist duos and music producers creating music that will connect people across the continent. It will include over 10 original compositions and a unique Coke Studio Africa Christmas playlist set for Dec 2018.
