Osimhen prefers a move to Arsenal and Chelsea over PSG

Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen is ready to dump Napoli and wants to join a Premier League club, preferably Arsenal or Chelsea, ahead of PSG.

Sources indicating the player’s preferences claim that the 25-year-old striker from Italy is interested in one of the London clubs, with Arsenal and Chelsea being frontrunners for Osimhen. The former Lille striker is said to be keenly waiting for interested Premier League clubs to approach him.

Osimhen was initially earmarked as the player PSG would use to replace Mbappe, the man tipped to join Real Madrid this summer. Nonetheless, based on Monday’s edition of the Italian newspaper, Corriere dello Sport, Osimhen is not keen to relocate to the French capital and has concerns about Ligue 1. However, he has already shifted his focus towards the Premier League, which makes both Arsenal and Chelsea his likely next teams.

The deadly fox, who won the Serie A Golden Shoe in 2022/2023, penned a new deal with Napoli in December. The estimated release clause in this contract is put at €120-€130 million (£101 million).

Osimhen was recently unavailable for Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against South Africa and the Benin Republic due to injury. He now wants a new adventure after leading Napoli to Scudetto last season in the 2022/2023 campaign.

Napoli is famously run by a tough negotiator, President Aurelio De Laurentiis, who has not wavered on the release clause for Osimhen. Nevertheless, the striker has insisted on the move to England.

Chelsea and Arsenal have both been linked with the Nigerian international in the past but signing him may cost as much £100 million. Arsenal is said to have shown less interest recently by just claiming high fee.

Since Osimhen prefers the Premier League than PSG or KSA, this transfer drama may well persist throughout the summer due to De Laurentiis’ rigid stances.
