NBA: Here is how Pep Guardiola helped the Boston Celtics become Champions

The head coach of the newly crowned NBA champions Boston Celtics, Joe Muzzulla, has revealed the impact of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola in helping his team win the Championship this year (2024).

Joe Mazzulla, while speaking in an interview after the game, confirmed that he drew inspiration from Guardiola's tactical advice, which helped improve the Celtics' transition game. Celtics won the title in Game 5 against the Dallas Mavericks, but Mazzulla acknowledged the challenges posed by Dallas' defensive abilities.

He said,

"Dallas has one of the smartest defences. We had to be creative to counter them. Pep [Guardiola] helped me in transitions and how to move guys."

Guardiola was seen watching the Celtics’ first home game of the NBA finals series, which they won before claiming two more wins on the bounce to set themselves up for a convincing championship The Celtics claimed their 18th title despite having a disappointing result in Game 4, but they clinched the ring in Game 5 against the Mavericks.

Guardiola also made history last season in the Premier League, winning the title for four consecutive times, a feat that has never been achieved by any manager.
