The players of Chelsea Football Club have travelled to the US for its pre-season tour leaving out Djordje Petrovic from the available players.

Djordje Petrovic is one of the few players who did not travel to the United States alongside Tevoh Chalobah which came as a surprise to supporters of the club.

Why did Djordje Petrovic not travel for Chelsea's pre-season?

The young lad who played most games for Chelsea last season was left out of the team due to an injury back in London. However, he is expected to join the rest of the team this weekend.

Chelsea's head coach, Enzo Maresca has made it clear that Robert Sanchez will be his number-one choice goalkeeper. Nonetheless, the Blues are still in search of another goalkeeper that will put Sanchez on his toes which means Petrovic might have not leave the club on loan.

Chelsea's tour of the States will see them face Wrexham in the early hours of Thursday, July 25, 2024, before taking on Celtic on Saturday, July 28, 2024.

Maresca's first official game for Chelsea London club begins their Premier League campaign with a trip to reigning champions Manchester City on Sunday, August 18, 2024, as he faces his former boss, Pep Guardiola.
