Manchester City's star striker, Erling Haaland, has been sidelined due to a new muscle injury. Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, confirmed that Haaland "felt something" during the game against Real Madrid at the Etihad Stadium. This has cast doubts over his participation in the upcoming FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea on Saturday and the Premier League match against Brighton five days later.

The Norwegian striker had asked to be taken off at the end of the game against Real Madrid before City were eventually knocked out of the Champions League on penalties. This latest injury comes as a huge blow to Manchester City's hopes of winning both the FA Cup and the Premier League titles, as Haaland has been instrumental in their success this season.

Pep stated,  "Erling [Haaland] felt something, a muscular issue. Kevin felt exhausted, so tired, after five months out injured, so that's normal. We'll see more tomorrow. [Haaland] A little bit niggles, a little bit problems, we will see his evolution in the next hours."

Pep also confirmed that Kevin De Bruyne also requested to be taken off during the Champions League fixture against Real Madrid as he felt something in his hamstring as well also making him a doubt for the Chelsea vs Man City fixture.

Speaking on the injury woes of Man City Pep Guardiola stated, "It's normal [to be tired] with the amount of games we've played this season and in the previous seasons. There's not much time for recovery, we played extra-time and the intensity we play. We are not machines, the fatigue is there. We don't have an option, we can't feel sorry for ourselves. We don't have time to reflect, we'll do that in the summertime. You compete to win, but sometimes you lose games, and that's what happened."
