Sevilla Football Club has revealed what transpired between themselves and Chelsea Football Club as it concerns the transfer of Jules Kounde.

The La Liga club released a series of tweets on its official Twitter account on Friday, July 29th, 2022. According to the club's sporting director, Monchi, they had originally agreed on a transfer fee with Chelsea but the Premier League club stalled on following up with the deal.

There were reports in the media about how Barcelona hijacked the deal from Chelsea despite the Stamford Bridge club reaching an agreement with Sevilla. According to reports, the Catalonia club did not reach out to Sevilla until Monday, July 25th, 2022 which was three days after Chelsea had agreed on a fee with the player.
