#MCITOT: 5 Things We Learnt from Manchester City 4-2 Tottenham

SHARE

The game between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur gave football supporters one of the most entertaining football matches.

The match was not just about the players, it was also about the tactical genius of the coaches ( Pep Guardiola and Antonio Conte). Both teams needed the maximum points desperately, City needed the win so they can close the gap on Arsenal while Spurs needed three points so they could cut the gap between themselves and Newcastle United.

(1) Ederson:

Pep Guardiola will have a bit to worry about despite the result of the game following Ederson's poor first-half performance which gifted Tottenham two goals in the final minutes of halftime.

(2) Manchester City's Attack:

Pep Guardiola's forward player came out smoky in the second half of the game at the Etihad Stadium.

Alvarez, Haaland, and Mahrez cut the celebration of the away supporters as each one of them wrote their name on the score sheet in less than fifteen minutes of the second half. The opening two goals came in less than three minutes before Mahrez scored the third goal.

Both Players were key for Manchester City in the game against Tottenham. This was the second time that both players were starting a game together since the start of the season and the combination seems to be something that Manchester City supporters will want to see more often.

(3) Hugo Lloris:

The former French International has been poor in goal since he returned from the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup. Lloris has conceded five goals in the last two games and that record will be a big worry for Antonio Conte if Spurs want to finish in the top four.

(4) Antonio Conte:

The former Chelsea manager has been in the news in recent weeks following his talks about Spurs' supporters being impatience and sometimes having too many expectations about the team. The manner of the defeat against Manchester City might see his days at the club numbered if he fails to get them into the top four.

(5) Title Race:

Manchester City have cut down the gap between themselves and Arsenal to five points having played a game more than the Gunners. However, a defeat for Arsenal and a win for for City against Wolves will cut the lead to two points.
