The future of Manchester United's number-one goalkeeper and midfielder, David De Gea and Mason Greenwood have been in doubt in the past few months.
Manchester United supporters have expressed their worries concerning the goalkeeper's mistakes that have led to goals for the opposition team. The manager of the club, Erik Ten Hag, has always confirmed that De Gea is part of his plan going into next season.
However, Manchester United cleared the air on the player's future in a statement released on its official website on Friday, June 16th, 2023. They confirmed that talks are ongoing concerning De Gea but they are yet to reach a conclusion.
The club also confirmed that they will be keeping Mason Greenwood, the midfielder who has been frozen out of the team since January 2022.
The English International lost his place in the Red Devils team after he was accused of physical and sexual assault by his girlfriend. Manchester United suspended Greenwood pending when the appropriate authorities were done with their investigations.
