Nigerian Afrobeats, hip-hop, and Apala musician Terry Alexandar Ejeh, popularly known as Terry Apala, has opened up about what the Wizkid verse did for their collaboration.
The neo-apala singer was featured alongside Grammy-winning Afrobeats star Wizkid and street-hop sensation Seyi Vibez on the DJ Tunez-owned, star-studded song.
'Apala Disco' by DJ Tunez, who is Wizkid's personal disc jockey, was originally released in 2019 and featured just Terry Apala on the Apala-inspired tune, a traditional genre in Nigeria.
Speaking in an interview with ace media personality Quincy Jonze on Echo Room, Terry Apala discussed the impact of Wizkid on the remix. According to the 35-year-old musician, the effect of Wizkid on the song is worth more than 100 million Naira in terms of PR value. Apala, trying to laud the superstar power of Wizkid, also mentioned that it was a dream come true for him and that it exposed him on a global scale.
