Rema receives plaques for selling out O2 arena, having 1 billion streams on Spotify

Rema has received legendary status as he receives two plaques. The Nigerian singer has become the fourth artist to sell out the O2 Arena.

After his sold-out concert in London, the superstar received two plaques for selling out the O2 arena and having more than a billion streams for his hit song Calm Down, featuring Selena Gomez. The young Mavins star has achieved huge milestones during his career.

The award-winning singer became the fourth Nigerian singer to sell out the 20,000-capacity arena on November 14, 2023. Other artists to reach this feat are Asake, Wizkid, and Burna Boy. The concert was also available for streaming via YouTube.

'Calm Down' became the first African track to hit a billion streams on Spotify. This achievement solidifies the benefits of collaboration between local and foreign artists. Other artists to join the Spotify Billion Club are Lisa (BlackPink), Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, The Weekend and many more.

The music video for Calm Down is well on its way to gaining a billion views on YouTube. Rema, Asake, JHus and other top-notch acts were announced as the 2024 Afronation Portugal Headliners scheduled from 26-28 June 2024.
