Nigerian sensation Rema has once again seized the spotlight by achieving a groundbreaking feat in 2023.

Rema's chart-topping hit, Calm Down, has etched its name in history, breaking records as the most Shazamed song globally this year.

Representing Afrobeats on the international stage, the 23-year-old music prodigy outshone formidable competitors, including renowned artists like Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga, to claim the coveted position.

Calm Down soared above the ranks, leaving Miley Cyrus' Flowers trailing in second place and Lady Gaga's Bloody Mary securing the third spot. Notably, the remix of Calm Down featuring Selena Gomez also made its mark, claiming the 94th spot on the prestigious list.

The celebration of Nigerian talent doesn't end with Rema, as fellow musicians Ayra Starr and Kizz Daniel also earned well-deserved spots on Apple Music's Top 100 Shazam list. Ayra Starr's sensational hit, Rush, took an impressive ninth place, while Omah Lay's Soso secured the 95th spot. Kizz Daniel's Cough (Odo) made its presence felt at number 98 on the distinguished list.
