Nigerian rapper, Tobechukwu Ejiofor, popularly known as Illbliss, has stirred conversations in the music industry by challenging established veterans to release new music amidst their claims of paving the way for younger Nigerian artists.

During an interview on Channels TV on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, Illbliss was prompted to share his perspective on the ongoing controversies surrounding the assertions made by established artists regarding their contributions to the industry.

Acknowledging the diversity of opinions, Illbliss emphasized that artists are entitled to their own views. He noted that while some may feel that the way was not paved for them, it ultimately boils down to individual perspectives.

Despite the lack of record deals from older musicians, Illbliss highlighted the influence and inspiration that younger artists draw from their predecessors. However, he issued a bold challenge to the industry OGs, urging them to release new music while lamenting the prevalence of ageism in Nigeria.

Expressing his dissatisfaction with the prevailing energy from the OGs, Illbliss emphasized the diligent efforts of younger artists and called for a more supportive environment within the industry.

In response to Illbliss's statement, Nigerian singer, Ric Hassani expressed his admiration and respect for the rapper, praising him for his intelligence and insightful commentary on the matter. Hassani's endorsement of Illbliss's sentiments further amplifies the significance of his challenge to the industry status quo.

As the debate continues, Illbliss's call to action resonates as a rallying cry for positive change and unity within the vibrant Nigerian music industry.
