Nigerian rapper YCee has urged the government to ban the use of point-of-sale (POS) machines after falling victim to a fraudulent scheme that led to the theft of N2.7 million from his bank account.
According to Azul 22 singer, the unauthorized withdrawals occurred in November 2024, with three transactions totaling N2.7 million being made using his debit card. However, upon further investigation, YCee discovered that the money was actually stolen through a POS machine, not his debit card as initially thought.
The rapper took to his social media page to share his ordeal, revealing that the thieves made three separate transactions, stealing N1 million, N1 million, and N700,000 respectively. This experience led YCee to call for a ban on POS machines, citing concerns over their security and vulnerability to fraud.
