The prolific Nigerian award is about to host its 17th edition, and entries have started.
Organizers of Nigeria's popular award show, the Headies, have made an announcement calling for entries for its 2024 edition, marking its 17th year running.
Headies, which has become quite a controversial award platform in a bid to continue its tradition, has called on eligible parties to submit content that could be considered for the coveted award. For the 17th edition, the year in review for submissions starts from April 1, 2023, to July 31, 2024; hence, only musical content released within this time will be eligible for nominations. Against this backdrop, Artistes, producers, Video Directors, and other music industry professionals have been called on to submit their works for consideration.
The Headies is a music awards show established in 2006 by Hip Hop World Magazine of Nigeria to recognise and honour outstanding achievements, primarily in the Nigerian music industry, across various genres and categories, shining a spotlight on both established and emerging acts.

Making the announcement on Monday, August 26, 2024, via its social media pages, the organisers stated that submissions will be accepted through the official Headies Awards website, with a deadline window of Friday, September 20, 2024.
Over the years, the Headies Awards have propelled Nigerian international stars like Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, Sean Tizzle, Kizz Daniel, Rema, Mr Eazi, Mayorkun and many more.
