Disc Jokey DJ Cuppy has opened up about her regretful engagement with Ryan Taylor during International Women's Day.

DJ Cuppy became the new brand ambassador for the Non-profit organization Prince's Trust. The non-profit helps youths in disadvantaged communities to learn skills and earn financial compensation.

Nigerian DJ Florence Otedola, widely recognized as DJ Cuppy, revealed that she experienced one of her most challenging years in the past due to her reluctance to decline various opportunities. Specifically, she expressed remorse for not saying No to her former fiancé, Ryan Taylor.

She gave a speech during an event by Prince's Trust to celebrate Women's Day. She addressed her short-lived engagement at the event. DJ Cuppy emphasized the importance of learning to say "No". Her engagement to Ryan Taylor ended abruptly in July 2023, just seven months after their surprising engagement in November 2022.

She said, “One of the things I have learned is saying no. I had one of the worst years of my life last year because I couldn’t say no. I didn’t say no to opportunities that I should have said no to. I didn’t say no to a fiancé I should’ve said no to. I didn’t say no to taking things on. I was at the BBC; I had a morning breakfast show, then I was DJing, I was planning a wedding, I was in Oxford University. I burnt myself out. And none of us are either good to ourselves or other people when we burnt out. So, we have to deal with that guilt that comes with saying no. It’s okay to say no”.
