Afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr is set to take center stage in New York this December as the Grammy Museum hosts a special edition of its program series, A New York Evening With Ayra Starr.

The event will take place on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at National Sawdust in Brooklyn.

The two-time Grammy nominee, known for global hits such as Rush and Sability, will participate in an in-depth conversation about her music, creative journey, and rapid rise in the industry. The discussion will be followed by an intimate live performance. The evening will be moderated by music journalist J’na Jefferson.

Ayra Starr’s appearance is part of the museum’s ongoing effort to expand its public programming in New York. As one of the leading voices of Afrobeats and a trailblazer for African female artists, her presence shows the genre’s increasing global influence.

The event will also spotlight her 2026 Grammy nomination for Best African Music Performance with her song Gimme Dat. Ayra Starr previously made history as the first and youngest Nigerian female artist to earn a nomination in that category with her breakout hit Rush.

Her participation comes on the heels of a milestone year marked by the release of her acclaimed second album, The Year I Turned 21, and high-profile performances across the world, including her debut on the Glastonbury stage and her appearances on Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour.

Tickets for the exclusive program are available through the Grammy Museum’s website. The New York series is supported by the Dawn and Brian Hoesterey Family Foundation.
