Nigerian talented singer, songwriter and performer, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, lost to Nicki Minaj at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards.
The award-winning songstress has had an amazing run this year, having won two awards at the 2022 BET Awards and received nominations at the Billboard Music Awards and MTV VMAs.
The award ceremony, held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, in the early hours of Monday, August 29 (8:00pm ET), honoured the best music videos of the year 2022.

Tems bagged a nomination in the Best Hip Hop award category for her contribution to Future’s hit collaboration with her and Drake titled "Wait For U". However, the award category was lost to iconic rapper Nicki Minaj, who nabbed the win with her song with ace rapper Lil Baby titled "Do We Have A Problem?"
