Lizer, Daddy Andre & Viola Karuri in Coke Studio Africa's Super 8 producers list
Ahead of the Feb 2019 premiere of Coke Studio Africa, the Pan African music collaborative show has selected leading African music producers, who continue to set trends and pioneer new and emerging African sounds, to join the upcoming season of “Coke Studio Africa 2019”. They include Lizer, Daddy Andre, Majic Mike, Viola Karuri, Rophnan, GospelOnDeBeatz, Krizbeatz and Young DLC
The Super 8 Music Producers will be tasked with engineering music fusions and collaborations from more than 25 African artists featuring on the upcoming season.
A host of East Africa’s hottest music producers of the moment are also set to engineer mega-hit collabos that will leave music fans across the continent on their feet. They include Tanzania’s biggest music producer Lizer, Kenyan hitmaker producer-cum-singer Majic Mike, fast-rising producer-singer Viola Karuri and one of Uganda’s most sought-after music producers, Daddy Andre. 22-year-old music producer, Mutoria from Kenya, will also make a cameo on the new season. Lizer will join the show for the first time producing several artist pairings, among them: Naiboi (Kenya) & Rayvanny (Tanzania) and Fik Fameica (Uganda) & Laylizzy (Mozambique).
Majic Mike will produce collaborations between Rudeboy (Nigeria) and Khaligraph Jones (Kenya). Viola Karuri will lend her production finesse as she marks her Coke Studio Africa debut producing for Boity (South Africa), Nazizi (Kenya) and Lioness (Namibia) on a special episode involving some of Africa’s trailblazing femcees. Daddy Andre will work on productions for: King Saha (Uganda) & Yared Negu (Ethiopia) and Lourena Nhate (Mozambique) Abush Zeleke (Ethiopia).
Renowned Ethiopian music producer, songwriter and DJ Rophnan is celebrated for pioneering a unique EDM sound from the most traditional Ethiopian sounds. He is the first artist to be selected on the show both as a music producer and performing artist. He will perform alongside Chef 187 (Zambia) and produce all their music collaborations.
GospelOnDeBeatz and Krizbeatz - two of Nigeria’s acclaimed music producers will be joining the show this year. Making a second return to the show, GospelOnDeBeatz will be producing several artist pairings including Winky D (Zimbabwe) & Messias Maricoa (Mozambique), Sheebah (Uganda) & Harmonize (Tanzania) and Skales (Nigeria) & Nandy (Tanzania). Krizbeatz will be producing Mr. Eazi (Nigeria) and Nandy (Tanzania), among other acts.
Returning to the show for the third time, highflying young Zimbabwean music producer: Young DLC will be tasked with producing cover tracks for all the Coke Studio stars including the Christmas playlist.
