Chelsea Football Club were crowned Champions of the Premier League summer series after they accumulated the highest number of points among the six teams that participated in the mini league.
The victory was a good start for the head coach of the club, Mauricio Pochettino who led his team to top the league table with seven points. The Blues defeated Brighton, and Fulham but shared the spoils against Newcastle United.
Pochettino named a team with a mixture of experienced players and young blood while Fulham's manager, Marco Silva also did likewise. Both managers gave equal opportunities to all the players, as they wanted everyone to have a fair share of the pre-season games.
Chelsea's top-class defender, Thiago Silva scored the opening goal of the match in the first ten minutes of the game after connecting to a corner kick from Ben Chilwell. Christopher Nkunku doubled the lead from a rebound to double the scoreline as the first half ended 2-0.
The Blues dominated the second half of the match with the best chances going to Nicolas Jackson but they failed to extend their lead despite their dominance.
