Thomas Partey absent as Ghana confirms AFCON 2023 27-man squad

Thomas Partey has been omitted as Ghana through a press conference confirmed the 27-man squad that will represent the country at AFCON 2023.

The press conference which was held today, Monday, January 1, 2023, saw the Black Stars of Ghana head coach Chris Hughton, reveal that Thomas Partey was exempted from the squad due to his injury issues.

It was revealed that the Arsenal midfielder just resumed training and is not match fit to be included in the squad. Brighton's Tariq Lamptey was also exempted from the squad with home based players also getting an opportunity to play on the big stage.
