MANCHESTER UNITED SET A NEW PREMIER LEAGUE RECORD
The 37-year-old was speaking at a press conference with the Brazilian national team during this international break. Silva was asked if he can keep playing till he reaches 40 and he said that was his desire.
It depends on this season and we’ll see what will happen in the World Cup… and it also depends on a contract extension. But I can confirm that my aim is to play until I am 40, yes.
Silva's current contract with Chelsea will be over at the end of this season (2022/23). The Brazilian joined Chelsea during the summer of 2020 under Frank Lampard. He has gone on to win the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.
