Super Eagles Suffer Injury Blow Ahead of AFCON

Super Eagles' quest to win the African Cup of Nations suffered a hit following an injury to Genk's forward, Paul Onuachu.

The player suffered an injury in the club 1-1 draw against Royal Antwerp in the Belgian league game played on Sunday, December 19th, 2021. The injury will be a major setback for the Super Eagles ahead of the African Cup of Nations to be hosted in Cameroon, which starts from January 9th, 2022 to February 6th, 2022. He was substituted in the 70th minute of the game.

The club's manager, Bernd Storck, who was speaking after the game, said the Nigerian is expected to be out for at least four weeks. According to the coach, Onuachu suffered a hamstring injury during the game.
